Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Bale International Airport (Addis Ababa) where you will be met by Destiny Ethiopia Tour and Travel representative and transfer to hotel. O/N – Hotel
Day 2: Drive to Lake Langano Recreational center: visiting Melka Kunture Archeological site, Adadi Mariam rock church, Tiya Stele, Gurage tribal village. O/N – Hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Arbaminch: visiting Alaba and Dorze tribal villages. O/N – Hotel.
Day 4: Drive to Konso: AM: Boat Excursion on Lake Chamo to see Africa’s gigantic Crocodiles and Hippos; PM: village of Konso tribe and their terraced field, Cultural Museum. O/N-Hotel
Day 5: Drive into the Omo Valley and stay at Jinka: excursion to visit the lip plated tribe of the Mursi via Mago National Park. O/N-Hotel
Day 6: Drive to Turmi: AM: visit the A’ari and Benna tribal villages; PM: visit the Hamar tribal village. O/N – Lodge
Day 7: Excursion to Omorate and Cross the Omo River to visit the Dassenetch tribal village. PM: visit the Market of the Hamar and Bishada. O/N- Lodge
Day 8: Excursion to visit the Nyangatom/Bume/ and Kara tribal villages. O/N-Hotel
Day 9: Drive to Arbaminch, visiting the Arbore and Tsemay tribal villages. O/N-Hotel
Day 10: Fly back to Addis, city tour of Addis, Evening farewell dinner and departure
Extension:
Day 10: Drive to Hawassa, visiting the Gamo and Hadiya tribal villages. O/N-Hotel
Day 11: Drive to Bale: scenic drive and game drive at the headquarter of Bale Mountains National Park to see Ethiopia’s Endemic mammals and birds. O/N-Hotel
Day 12: Excursion to the Sanette Plateau to see Ethiopian Wolf-endemic and the plateau hosts a large number of raptors that feed on the sizeable rodent population. Proceed to Tulu Dimtu, at an altitude of 4377m asl, is the second highest peak in Ethiopia.
Day 13: Excursion to Sof Omar Cave- the largest cave in Africa and the most spectacular and extensive underground caverns in the world. Late afternoon game drives at Gessay Valley, The flat valleys of Gaysay are dominated by species of the genera Ar temisia, Helichrysum, Ferula and Kniphofia.
Day 14: Drive back to Addis through the highland of Arsi Mountains range. O/N-Hotel.
Day 15: Sightseeing tour of Addis, including National and Archeological Museum, Ethnographic Museum, Holy Trinity Cathedral, St. George Cathedral, Entoto- highest peak in Addis/3200m) for panoramic view of the city and finally Merkato-largest open air market in Africa. Evening farewell dinner party and Departure.
